Samsung Fail to Open Recovery_Cause? Do Not Reset for This Line Alone
Your Samsung Recovery screen shows "fail to open recovery_cause (No such file or directory)" near the bottom, followed by lines such as "Reboot Recovery Cause is [UNKNOWN]" . If the Recovery menu is visible, Recovery Mode has already opened. This line does not by itself mean that the recovery partition, motherboard, or personal data has failed. The message says that Samsung's recovery environment could not read an expected record describing why the device entered Recovery. The decision changes with what happens next: a Galaxy that reboots into Android and works normally is different from one that keeps returning to Recovery or also shows mount and verification failures. Do not factory-reset a working phone merely to remove this diagnostic line. First read the other lines on the screen, choose Reboot system now if no destructive action is intended, and judge the phone by whether it boots, unlocks, reads files, and stays stable.
